Nicholas F. Benson, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology. He has taught classes in school psychology, intellectual assessment, academic assessment, personality assessment, learning and cognition, neuropsychology, measurement, and statistics. Dr. Benson’s research interests focus broadly on psychological and educational assessment, with emphasis on examining the validity of interpretations and uses of test scores. Dr. Benson is an Associate Editor for Journal of School Psychology. He also serves on the Editorial Board for School Psychology, Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment . He has published research in leading journals, including Multivariate Behavioral Research, Psychological Assessment, Journal of School Psychology, School Psychology, School Psychology Review, Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, and International Journal of School and Educational Psychology. He is an active member of the American Psychological Association, Division 16 (School Psychology) of the American Psychological Association, and the National Association of School Psychologists.
Dr. Benson earned his Ph.D. and Education Specialist degrees at the University of Florida with a specialty in school psychology. He holds M.S. and B.A. degrees in psychology from Illinois State University and Moorhead State University, respectively.
